ERIS

ERIS, the Enhanced Resolution Imager and Spectrograph, is an infrared instrument for the Adaptive Optics Facility at the VLT (Very Large Telescope). It is intended to allow diffraction limited spectroscopic and imaging observations at near-IR wavelengths, thanks to the AO correction on a narrow field-of-view. ERIS is composed by an IR imaging camera NIX and the upgraded SPIFFI spectrograph.

The ERIS AO subsystem has been designed and integrated by INAF departments. In particular, Arcetri was the responsible for the AO module and Teramo for the Calibration Unit.
